Book review #1

Finished reading 'Convenience store woman '. The book started off with an interesting concept of how society expects everyone to be in a certain way, expects us to behave in a particular manner; get educated, get a good job, get married and have kids. In this manner, we haven't progressed much from the medieval times. The protagonist who doesn't have the emotional capabilities due to her challenges finds a job in the convenience store and finds it very easy coz everything comes with a manual there, from how you have to smile to what you have to say to customers. But, later she tries to fit into the societal expectations coz of constant questioning by taking in a man. She fails miserably in that and finally goes back to the convenience store. The story has a fantastic beginning and has some great lines too but it feels as if the author didn't know how to complete it.
