Book review #1

Finished reading 'Convenience store woman '. The book started off with an interesting concept of how society expects everyone to be in a certain way, expects us to behave in a particular manner; get educated, get a good job, get married and have kids. In this manner, we haven't progressed much from the medieval times. The protagonist who doesn't have the emotional capabilities due to her challenges finds a job in the convenience store and finds it very easy coz everything comes with a manual there, from how you have to smile to what you have to say to customers. But, later she tries to fit into the societal expectations coz of constant questioning by taking in a man. She fails miserably in that and finally goes back to the convenience store. The story has a fantastic beginning and has some great lines too but it feels as if the author didn't know how to complete it. Convenience Store Woman is a quietly brilliant novel about finding one’s place in a world obsessed wi...

Why are we triggered when someone criticises us?

Basically, Anger or defending an advice or a lecture or a critique depends on the situation.  If it is unwanted help, then it's absolutely normal . You may feel as if someone is interfering in your work or that they don't have faith in you to do it on your own. Anger is a secondary emotion. This advice is often unwanted and can leave you feeling irritated, shamed, or judged.  When someone offers their opinion on what you could be doing differently, it can sometimes feel like criticism . In some situations, the advice-givers aren't judging you, but feeling defensive can make the advice feel like criticism. Everyone has some form of inner rebel that likes to question or do the opposite of what we're told.” Experts call this feeling or need to rebel psychological reactance.  It's your brain's reaction when you feel a threat to your freedom or think your choices are being limited . Hence, it is normal when we are triggered when an elderly person criticises us but it...

Unapologetically me

“Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that you are” —MANDY HALE  Absolutely! Embracing our imperfections, quirks, and unique qualities can lead to a more fulfilling and authentic life. Here's why:    1. Celebrating our individuality can bring joy and authenticity to our lives.    2. Self-Acceptance: Embracing our imperfections helps us cultivate self-acceptance. A self made format

As a research student, I followed a self made format that helped me throughout this research journey.  Knowledge is a powerful tool that empowers individuals and societies . It means the understanding and awareness gained through education, experience, and information and facts . Knowledge equips us with the ability to make decisions, solve problems, and adapt ourselves to different situations. It fences in a wide range of subjects, including academic knowledge, practical skills, and even intangible concepts such as emotional intelligence. We should constantly equip ourselves with knowledge no matter what age we are.  Time management involves allocating time to different activities based on their importance and urgency. Effective time management allows people to make the most of their limited time, leading to increased productivity and reduced stress levels. Developing an effective communication involves not only speaking but also listening attentively and understanding non-ve...

The Parents

Which of Allah’s favour's would you deny?  The parents are our blessings from him as the most high  It is our duty to Cherish and respect them. I ask for Allah's Prayers and wishes all the time.  Their words sometimes hurt me like those bullets But I understand that they are my biggest well wishers They do all these to me because they wish me good always  We may loose our friends but parents never loose us.  A day I thought the purpose about Life, existence and death.  I found nothing except worshipping Allah is the best.  Next comes my mother as the prophet said Who gave me one meaning to this life and the next.  Next comes my father, the one who rejoices me.  I understood that my pleasure and joy lies in between them. I wish My father’s face to glow with happiness  I wish my mother to stay healthy and always young  But they think that one and only I'm their everything. Oh Allah! care for them as they cared me when I'm young....

Untold Wish

I'm willing to be writer for a long time. So I wish for people to view my work . Until this last year, I was doubtful the more about publicly posting a prominent poem or a story .  When I told my friends about the idea , they suggested that they will support my wish and for success., though I have very small circle of people to circulate my scripts.  I love reading the oldest kinds of story books, like scot Fitzgerald which was written century  ago and history books too. And so, I wish to be a writer. Thanks to  https://t.me/ThePeepTimes who published my work  https://t.me/ThePeepTimes/8572 .

Conceal the faults of the others

Abu Huraira Narrated that, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates one who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother. Whoever follows a path in order to seek knowledge thereby, Allah will make easy for him, due to it, a path to Paradise. No people gather together in a house of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descended upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them and Allah makes mention of them to those in His presence. Whoever is slowed by his deeds will not be hastened forw...
